i got my pre travel packet yesterday at asia. it includes all the paperwork that must be signed and notarized for the adoption as well as the chinese visa info. i'd forgotten how many small details must be taken care of before that plane lifts off to take me to hong kong and then onto guangzhou, guilin and finally fuzhou. its beginning to feel much closer.

i told my supervisor last week , and it went very very well. she was incredibly supportive and happy for me. what a relief.i was so worried about the timing for taking leave in the summer (never a popular time for unplanned time off )i had worked myself into a frenzy thinking that i'd have to fight for fmla and it doesn't seem that is going to be the case. now i can concentrate on the details for travel, getting ruby ready and getting myself ready for the addition of hazel!
