the modern world

now is the time for trying new things, and joining the modern world.

someof you may know that i just recently joined the ranks of those with dishwashers. my 1951 bungalow did not have one, and when i moved in 2.5 years ago, it was not high on my priority list to add one. well somehow, someone got through to my thick head and helped me see that i REALLY would like having one. so i got one and guess what- i can't believe i didn't do it sooner!

i also swallowed hard, and retired my 1984 westy to camping only status and am now driving a sensible and gas efficient honda wagon.

on that same note, i have been toying with the idea of getting a digital camera for a few years. basically i was too lazy to research which one would be best for my needs. and besides i like my little pentax point and shoot. so i finally bit the bullet and went to the camera store. i came away with a nice little cannon, which isn't too complicated, but should allow me to take photos and email them to people as well as post here to the blog. this will be great to be able to do from china. so as i tap away at this the battery is charging and i'll read the instructions tonight. looking forward to a leap to the new century!
